GRP100 is GR8!
Date: 2008-08-05 | Rating: 5
George Foreman 3-Plates Stainless Steel Grill - GRP100 My DH and I have been long time fans of the George Foreman line of Grills. When my last one went "toes up" I looked to my friends at amazon.com and they came to the rescue with this great grill. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly. In fact this is the first one that I've had that I have not had to turn foods a couple of times during grilling to get them cooked. I use it for bacon, chicken, hamburgers, paninis, porkchops, sausages, steaks, veggies and more. If you have a large, hungry family (IE: teenage boys) that eat all at once, you would probably want to find a bigger one. This one is fine for a couple of big ribeyes or 4 to 5 hamburgers - depending on how big you make yours! I love cooking bacon on this grill! Yeah, it takes a little longer than frying, but no more splatter burns on my hands and arms! Plus! All that wonderful bacon grease drips down into the tray so I can save it. This is a little off topic but....ok, I know that it is bad for me, but seriously....have you ever eaten chicken fried in bacon grease? I grew up on a farm and that is a way of life for us! You can't go wrong with this grill - it cooks veggie burgers too, for those of you disgusted by my bacon grease. LOL! I haven't used the included plate for making pancakes, but it looks like it should work great. The grill can be adjusted so that it allows stuff to drain off or so that it is level --- for the pancakes.

I am pleasantly surprised

Having happily owned a top of the line Hamilton Beach grill for the past 11 months til yesterday (dropped it and one of the hinges broke leaving the top lopsided), I desperately searched for a good replacement and found this puppy today at a local kitchen store going out of business. I put 2 good size burgers on the tray and less than five minutes after a good preheat, I found myself more happy with this grill than my previous one. Now I understand that I have only used it once, and haven't found yet too many things I could call an ergonomic flaw. But I can fit 4 of the same prepackaged burgers on this grill than my Hamilton Beach one, which I could only get 3. More width on the Hamilton, but less depth than the Foreman. When I raise the lid, the top of it doesn't clear the cabinet bottom above it. Make sure you have enough cabinet headroom before cooking anything on this grill, as the lid doesn't stay up until it is exactly vertical when removing your food. But this grill is also more stealthy built than the Hamilton, and much more adjustable on tilt so that the grease runs down and front faster. A little foul plastic burning smell at my first preheat, but I removed the plates and washed them. And now the smell is no more! Also having an extra tray that is flat for cooking stir frys, omelets, sandwiches, kabobs and the like is a bonus. I looked at a bunch of other George Foreman grills yesterday and today, but this one I feel is better functionally and has a very solid feel. And the burgers I grilled didn't have any fragments of what looks like loose beef skin on top of my burgers, just solid clean beef when I finished cooking them. And they tasted fantastic, not dried up at all. I've read of the plates non-stick finish wearing off of many George Foreman grills. But time will tell with this one. Right now I can vary the temp and set the timer between 1 and 30 minutes. I have no grey spots or cold spots, as the meat cooks evenly. And I am now more inspired to do more other types of cooking on this grill more often. I couldn't be happier right now, but only time will tell if this one lasts as well as my Hamilton Beach grill did.

Foreman 3 plate grill
Date: 2008-12-12 | Rating: 4
Easy to clean grill. Instructions could be clearer on which plate is top and which one is bottom. Still trying to adjust to setting the timer mechanism to preheat, then reset to cook, but if I remember both of those steps, this grill works very well. Perfect burgers, vegetables, fish. Absolutely no sticking, and even though the plates can be put in the dishwasher, they also pretty much wipe clean with a paper towel. I would definitely buy this product again.

Great grill for the health concious

I just bought this item a few days ago. I am so pleased with this grill. The first item i made was chicken breast with a garlic and herb rub. Prep time was about 5 minutes to get the chicken and ingredients ready. After that i put in on the grill for 10 minutes. The check was cook well and was moist and flavorful. This is a must have grill for anyone looking to eat healthy. And the detachable plates makes it quick and easy for clean up.

The red color is perfect, not too bright. The GF quality is consistent and the Amazon pricing and customer service was perfect. I find the George Forman to be easy to clean and the sleek style of my newest Foreman grill makes it attractive when left out on the counter. I usually give them away to one of my adult children or nieces and buy new ones. I plan to keep this one for a while because I really like it. The cord wrap feature and stand up storage are both a big plus.

Just what the doctor ordered
Date: 2003-10-23 | Rating: 5
I am a thirtysomething woman with the cooking skills of a teenage boy, and the GF Grill was "prescribed" to me by some friends and family who sympathized with my ongoing struggles...and I must say that it has proved to be excellent "treatment plan!" I LOVE IT! I have grilled chicken breasts to mind-blowing juicy perfection, portabella mushrooms, turkey, tofu dogs, and many assorted vegetables -- even such tricky ones as okra -- on this grill. I've found no need to thaw anything or use cooking spray. I admit that I haven't even read the directions that came with it. And it really did clean up beautifully with nothing but wet paper towels. I recommend the "family" size even if you live alone, so that you can grill your entree and side items all at once. This delightful thing now has a permanent home on the counter, and my take-out bills and waistline are sure to improve dramatically. Warmly recommended to all...and remember, friends don't let friends eat fast food!

Great for City Dwellers
Date: 2002-11-13 | Rating: 5
If you miss summer BBQ's this is for you. I love the way the grill marks the chicken, hamburger, veggies, etc. for a real authentic look, as well as taste. My only suggestion is to cook your food at least 2 minutes less than the recommended time suggested otherwise your meat will out dry as there is no fat to keep it moist. It's wonderful if you live in the city and clean up is very easy, although I do spray the top and bottom with Pam to avoid sticking and easier cleanup.

Not soo big!
Date: 2005-05-07 | Rating: 5
We purchased this about a year ago. We love the foreman grill. This was the first time we had purchased something like this and we love the way it cuts down on cooking and cleaning! It's a cinch. The grease really does melt away. The one complaint I have is that "Extra Large Family Size" doesn't adequetly describe this product. It doesn't fit anything more than 2 normal sized steaks or 2 breasts at a time. We would've opted for a bigger one if we would've known it was that small. Other than that we love it!

Oh, how I love this

My Dad bought this with a gift card my brother got him. He's wanted a George Foreman for a while and finally got it. It has been a nice counter decoration for several months now. It hadn't been used. I wanted a little steak the other day and didn't want to have to stand over the stove. So, I plugged this thing in.It only took about 10 minutes for both sided to be done. It was a great dinner. I also used it to grill chicken and some veggies. Then, I put then in a torilla and grilled to quesadilla on this.I like how the fatty grease and oils flow into the little tray. Makes you really think about what goes into your body when you use a skillet.Clean up is a breeze. Just let it cool off and wipe it down with a soapy washcloth. The little plastic trays can be washed in the sink or dishwasher.I have noticed that the smaller ones also make great gifts, especially for college students (wink, wink).

Even I can Cook with the George Foreman!
Date: 2004-04-04 | Rating: 5
I recently receieved the George Foreman grill and although it took me awhile to get over my intimidation of it (it sat in the cupboard for a few months) - it took about 5 minutes to master it! I am stuck in a temporary living situation and have been living with only a microwave and a toaster oven for 8 MONTHS! Two weeks ago I tried it for the first time and I have been using it every night since then - steak, cheeseburgers, chicken breasts - tomorrow FISH! My parents love theirs too and found a neat clean up trick - not that it is all that hard - but if you put a damp paper towel inside and leave it there while you eat everything just wipes right off! Enjoy!

Great kitchen item
Date: 2005-07-28 | Rating: 5
I've become quite the culinary expert now that I have this grill. It cooks things so quickly that I am in and out of the kitchen in no time. I am single and feel this size would be adequate for two people at the most if you want to cook your meats at one time. Great product.

George Foreman Grill
Date: 2006-11-10 | Rating: 5
Product is very good and serves the exact purpose I bought it for, i.e. grill upto 4 patties at a time. It grills 4 quater pounders or 3 half pound patties at a time. Cleaning is no hassle. I have even washed it under running water (ofcourse it wasn't plugged in) and you have to let it dry for a while after that. Advice - Don't trust the bun warmer; the transperant plastic cover just falls of and the buns don't get any warmer.

Compact yet Large
Date: 2006-02-23 | Rating: 5
My favorite compact Foreman grill. Has a large cooking area, length and width. All other compact units lack length especially and could use more width. Cooks chicken breast in 5 minutes, grills just about everything one can imagine. Easy cleaning, just take a regular paper towel, fold a few times so not to burn fingers, and wipe down right after cooking. Works better that way then letting it cool. This is actually my second one, I left my first behind in a move, never again.

Every kitchen should have one
Date: 2006-08-18 | Rating: 5
The George Foreman Grill is fantastic. It is so easy and fast to use that I find myself grilling a lot and eating more fish. It is easy to clean. The newer design looks sharp enough to keep on the counter top. The price is very reasonable.

I owned the smaller George Foreman "Lean Mean Fat Reducing Machine" for years and really enjoyed it because it quickly grilled hamburgers, steaks, and chicken strips. And it was always very easy to operate. I decided to upgrade to this new grill because it beautifully matches my kitchen (black.) I also wanted this grill because I really needed a slightly larger grill to "knock out the fat." My parents have two George Foreman grills and they offered to give me their extra-large jumbo grill, but that one is way too big for me. So, instead I opted to get this grill which is medium in size, between the small champ size and jumbo size. The value and quality are both exceptional; I have seen similar grills with less features go for much more. I also like the recipe booklet that it comes with because the recipes look very good and simple to make. And I found the little section on the back of the grill convenient because it can hold the cord in place. For everyone that enjoys hot buns, I recommend putting them in your toaster oven for a few minutes to get them toasty. I did not purchase this grill for that reason, so it really doesn't bother me if the bun toaster doesn't work too well; however when I recently used the bun warmer it worked very well for me. It's also a prefect grill to make baby back ribs in. I just cut the rack in half, boil the ribs first, spray the grill with lots of pam and grill them for about 10 minutes (turning them over after the first five), during the last few minutes I baste each side with my favorite barbecue sauce. The only thing I didn't like is that I had a little trouble stowing it away because it is somewhat bulky. Overall, it's a wonderful addition to my kitchen!

Amazon.com Review
With 200 square inches of grilling space, this version of the celebrated George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine grills 12 burgers or chicken breasts at once, perfect for entertaining. The 1500-watt appliance's appeal lies in its simplicity, convenience, and speed--not to mention its fat-fighting ability. Two grills cook burgers, steaks, chicken, sausage, fish, shrimp, and vegetables simultaneously from the top and bottom--indoors or outdoors. The resulting grill marks not only look appetizing but also contribute caramelized flavor. The bottom grill's deep channels collect fat, and the grill is sloped so the fat runs off into a dishwasher-safe aluminum tray (two included) stationed under the unit's front. A floating 2-inch-high hinge permits grilling of extra-thick steaks. One dial on the stay-cool handle controls temperature; the other is a 30-minute timer. Because the grills are nonstick, cleanup is a snap, requiring just a quick scrape with a plastic spatula (two included) and a quick wipe with a paper towel or a sponge. Overall, the grill measures 20-1/4 inches wide, 8 inches high, and 21-1/4 inches deep. It's made of rugged black-and-gray cast aluminum and stands upright for compact storage. --Fred Brack

George Foreman GR62 Double Champion Indoor/Outdoor Electric
Date: 2003-04-07 | Rating: 5
This is my second George Foreman grill (I wore out the teflon on my first one). I didn't have a timer on the other GF grill and really appreciate the fact that I can pretty much set it and forget it with the GR62. This one also has a much bigger grilling space than my previous grill which is a definite plus. The only thing that I might warn you about with this grill is it's size--if you don't have alot of counter space think twice about getting it or purchase the optional stand along with it because it is VERY large. I've read a few comments about the grill being difficult to clean when marinades and/or rubs are used so will a share a tip that I've learned from trial and error. After the grill is completely cooled, take a damp and soapy sponge or dishrag and thoroughly clean your grill. When it is completely clean, rinse completely with another damp sponge or dishrag. Then wipe the grill down with a paper towel. I've found that by doing this the teflon does not get damaged and I no longer have concerns about the cleanliness of my grill.

I cook everying on the grill (burgers, chicken, fish, pork chops, and steaks). It cooks fast and is very easy to clean. This is the grill to choose if you need to cook lots of food at once. I can cook 4-5 1 1/4 thick T-Bone steaks or 8 pork chops at one time without a problem. I have enjoying cooking on my grill and so will you.

Great for those without the yard

I live in an apartment. . .I have a decent sized place and I love to have guests. Unfortunately, I am a half story below the earth. No back yard, no walk out, just some windows that remind me of a basement. This is grill is perfect for us. . those who are yard challenged:) The grill is very easy to clean up, wipe it out with a soapy damp rag and a quick wipe down with a clean one and you're done. The one disadvantage is the fact that the "grill" taste is not there. No charcoal, no propane, no mesquite. . . you must season, especially poultry, well or it will not have all that much flavor. It makes great, juicy meats in no time at all. One grill fits all cuts o' meat.

The Best
Date: 2001-12-29 | Rating: 5
I love it. The way you cut fat it makes the food taste better. There is only two problems I have with it. Where the timer is the numbers are wearing off and could use more recipes with it. But other than these two problems I really enjoy cooking with it. Easy clean up. I would recommend this machine or any of his products to anyone.

Cant Beat It
Date: 2004-04-13 | Rating: 5
After reading the mixed reviews I decided to purchase this grill and try it myself. Its amazing it takes up a good chunk of counter space but it allows me to cook two pounds of chicked breasts at a time. Unlike some of the previous reviewers I haven't had any problems at all doing this all two bpounds done after preheating the grill for 10 minutes and cooking for 18 minutes. Cleanup was a breeze I just wiped the grill down whil it was still warm with a soapy sponge and then rinsed. Some have complained about not being able to clean marinades or spices of of the grill without scrubbing. I didn't have this problem but I also sprayed the grill after preheating with a PAM non stick spray made for indoor grills. This is one of the best buys I've made in a long time

By cooking foods from the top as well as from the bottom simultaneously, maximum moisture and flavor is retained. The one thing that is not retained is the fat, which runs out along channels in the slightly slanted grill to a dishwasher safe drip-tray out front. The grill marks provide caramelized flavor and an appealing apperance for steaks, chicken breasts, seafood, veggies and more. While your food is cooking you can also warm up buns, tortillas, rolls and other bread items on top. After the party's over simply scrape with the plastic spatula and wipe clean with a paper towel or sponge. This model is an ideal size for cooking food for one or two people.

Topped by a bun warmer with a transparent lid in bright blue, this Champ is a variant of the popular George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine. The electric appliance's appeal lies in its simplicity and countertop convenience--not to mention its fat-fighting ability. The double-sided grill (a 6-by-7-inch nonstick cooking surface) cooks burgers, steaks, chicken, sausage, fish, shrimp, and vegetables top and bottom in minutes. (Recipes accompany the grill.) Grill marks not only look appetizing they contribute caramelized flavor. The bottom grill's deep grooves collect fat, and the grill is sloped so the fat runs off into a dishwasher-safe plastic tray stationed under the unit's front. The nonstick bun warmer draws heat from the grill and can be used while food is grilling or by itself. (The entire unit, grill and bun warmer, turns on by plugging in the power cord.) The warmer heats a burger's bun as well as other bread items, including English muffins, tortillas, pita bread, sliced bagels, and croissants. Because the grill is nonstick, cleanup is a snap: just a quick scrape with a plastic spatula (included) and a quick wipe with a paper towel or a sponge. --Fred Brack

I bought mine recently and LOVE it! I'm a single person who normally eats out of the microwave and get impatient when it takes more than 5 minutes for some dishes. But I do love to cook but ran out of time with my job nowadays and this does the perfect job of allowing me to cook quickly and clean up just as quickly. I'm very happy with mine! Of note, some people are bothered by the small size. It's just me so it's perfect and possibly perfect for 2 people. Get a bigger size if you cook for a lot of people.

This little appliance is the greatest invention since the toaster! I received one for my 45th birthday. I was VERY skeptical. Oh gosh, "another appliance to stick in the cabinet." It sat on the counter and I stared at it for three weeks. Then I tried it. I now use it, at minimum, 4-5 times a week. It cooks any type of meat or poultry in 8-12 minutes; fish takes even less time. Chicken breasts, steaks, sliced pork loin, sausage patties, hamburgs, sliced veggies, salmon steaks -- you name it. Everything cooks to perfection. I don't understand the other reviewers who have said the meat is undercooked on the inside and black on the outside. Can't they read the timing chart in the Instruction Book? One tip: don't try to cook anything TOO thick: 1-2" works best. It's great with marinated meats and poultry. And try "rubs" as well. Barbeque sauce is okay, but a bit of a clean-up. However, cleaning this machine is a snap. Use a dry paper towel first, then a wet sponge (no soap!) -- keep the drip pan in place, then another paper towel. Takes about 3 mins. When you pre-heat it again for the next use, it's going to kill off any germs/bacteria that might remain. It gets easier to clean the more you use it. No, it doesn't make stuff taste like it came off a charcoal grill outside. But the meat has a great flavor, stays juicy, and no oven to bother with (not to mention pans). For a single person, this appliance is a must! I can cook a really healthy meal now in less than 15 mins.

A must for any kitchen

This little grill will fit a NY strip steak and make it medium rear in seven minutes (three minutes preheating and four minutes of actual grilling). Steaks come out perfect with no mess or smoke. If you want another steak, just wipe the surface with the paper towel. In four minutes you will have another juicy steak. You can also fit two small hamburgers, but the bun warmer will take only one bun, so you are better off with one jumbo hamburger. The only thing that is missing is a timer. I use Pyrex digital probe thermometer (also offered on Amazon) to monitor temperature inside the meet and I always get a perfect steak or hamburger. I stick the probe inside the steak and place readout on the table in front of me, hamburger is done when the temperature reaches 160F. For medium steak it is 180F. Of course, this is not the same as grilling on the open fire grill but for quick and tasty meal I can't find anything better. You can also grill fish, chicken, bacon, and vegetables with great results.

Very good indeed

Great Taste - - lives up to the hype !
Date: 2002-08-25 | Rating: 5
In terms of taste and convenience, I have to give this item 5 stars - - It cooks quickly and evenly and the food comes out immersed in flavor - - I happen to be a master at either over or undercooking almost anything I make... not a single thing I cooked came out burnt or raw in the middle. - - and get this - - we cooked a delicious chicken breast (with the bone) using nothing more than a bit of salt and pepper... and it came out just perfect... nice, juicy and flavorful - - and the whole meal took less than 5 minutes to cook - - and even less to clean up... ... the non-stick surface let's you wipe the schmaltz away in seconds, and before you know it you can store it away... Another amazing point is that its smoke free - - though I love the smell of roasted garlic and fried onions, it was nice for to be able to make them without smelling or smoking up the house.Only two things you should be aware of - - first I happen to a professional Jazz organist, and the grill (especially the lid part) seemed like something that might be too easy to get burned on, especially when you're using that spatula it comes with(Grilled chicken yes - - grilled hand - - no no - - bad one's next gig or boxing match !) and the other thing is that it doesn't have an on/off switch. It heats up almost instantly when you plug it in... I'd hate to find out what would happen though if you forgot to take the plug out - - so you definitely need to remind yourself to pull the plug when you're finished ! - - For this reason I was tempted to give it only 4 stars... but then I remembered that delicious perfectly cooked chicken in only 5 minutes... and the fact that the grill actually cost around the same price as dinner for two at Bennigan's, yet hopefully will last for years to come... so I relented. - - This *is* a great product... (*note - - size is ideal for a bachelor pad, or couple without children... it holds about two patties - - so if you have a larger family go for a bigger size.)

Our 2nd George Foreman Grill
Date: 2009-10-15 | Rating: 5
It's a great grill & perfect for bacon on Sun. AM. We use our larger stand up George Foreman grill for steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs & fish but this grill could do all of those. Happy we have 2 George Foreman grills. Stand uo grill has a larger cooking surface. This grill fine for the two of us. With company we use the stand uo grill.

I have owned 2 or 3 other GF grills over the years. As my children or neices went to college I would give them the one from my kitchen -- then I would buy the newest model. I love the color and the features: cord wrap, stand up storage, lid that can be adjusted for thicker food, etc. My 17 year old neice is already asking if she can have it when she goes to college. I don't know, I may have to get her a new one this time because I really like this model, its just the right size for us empty nesters. It is a breeze to clean - just wipe with a damp cloth or towel after unplugging. If you have owned a GF in the past and don't mind cleaning up after cooking you will be fine with this grill. Amazon's great customer service and prices makes this a best buy.

Pain to clean
Date: 2009-09-12 | Rating: 3
Cooks food up pretty good but it's a pain to clean. I would really recommend getting one of the grills with the removable grill plates instead of this model.

Don't buy this one!!
Date: 2009-08-12 | Rating: 1
Don't buy this one - Buy one with removable plates! My mother bought me a GF grill for Christmas and it had 2 removable plates - I LOVED IT and used it everyday - most days I used it 2 times! My house burned recently and the GF grill burned up too - nothing left but the 2 removable plates which were in the dishwasher. So my mom bought me a new one but it was this one. I used it 2 times - cleaning is a pain as you have to make sure you do not get it wet. With the other model, I quickly removed the plates and let them soak or put them in the dishwasher. I am packing this one up and returning it for one with removable plates. Otherwise I LOVE GF grills!

Very Impressive
Date: 2008-04-18 | Rating: 5
I did considerable research before I purchased this grill and I'm very pleased with the results. The grilling surface, while not huge, is quite large enough for a couple of good-sized steaks or several hamburgers or chicken pieces. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly and efficiently and I've found clean-up to be a breeze. At first I dismissed the little plastic spatulas as silly and useless but I found that they're the perfect size and shape for gently scraping the plates to loosen any food residue before swiping them with a damp paper towel or sponge. This is one product that works as advertised and I highly recommend it.

Gets nice and hot
Date: 2008-01-09 | Rating: 5
I had originally bought the Foreman grill with removable plates (GRP4P) but it didn't seem to get very hot. I suspect it is underpowered in terms of wattage and the removable plates cause some loss in temperature. By contrast this grill gets good and hot, browning foods very nicely. The large size is great for families.

This is a great grill with pleanty of cooking space. This is actually my 3rd George Forman Grill. The first was the small one, which I quickly replaced with a bigger one. After a few years it finally was time to replace it. The non-stick had started to come off and it just looked old. So I now have this one and still love these grills. They save so much time and really help keep you on a healthy diet program.

Tastes Great!

Got it for the family for Christmas... didn't get used until about two days ago - go figure. BUT, when we actually got around to using it, it worked just great. Grilled chicken turned out great with no prep and little cleanup afterwards. Using it is a snap too - a six year old could use it... well at least I could've when I was six. Great buy - the family's happy!

Best money I have ever spent!
Date: 2010-01-16 | Rating: 5
I just got my george foreman contemporary grill today! On the picture it looks white but its really silver. I've already cooked chicken, shrimp, salmon, corn on the cob, and a quesadilla. It's awesome! Soo much fun! Cooking surface is 80 sq inches and it's small enough to fit on our kitchen counter without looking too bulky but big enough to cook for me, my wife, and my 5 year old son. I tend to over cook my food because i haven't gotten used to it cooking soo fast but I'm starting to figure it out. I think I'm going to start preparing my food in the morning (marinating meats, cutting vegetables and whatnot) to cut down cooking time even more! Cleaning is simple enough...just wipe down the hot grill with a sponge and dry off with a kitchen towel. Me and My wife are on a diet so this grill is going to make it easier to keep us on track! Highly recommended to anyone!

Grills well
Date: 2009-11-23 | Rating: 4
This is my fifth George Foreman grill. It is the largest I've purchased over the years. I use the grill several times a week. It heats well and food grills uniformly. I find this particular model to be easy to use and it has held up better than the cheaper models. My biggest issue with all of the grills I've purchased is the cleaning. The plates don't come off, so you have to be careful when washing them so that you don't get water where it shouldn't go. The grills are made well, so it is pretty hard to get water inside the apparatus, but it is still a bit of a chore to scrub. Highly recommended if you want something that will quickly grill a juicy piece of chicken, vegetables and more.

short lived George Foreman Grills
Date: 2009-01-30 | Rating: 3
I've had about 5 foreman grills so far. I probably used it at the most 3 to four times a week. After about 9 mo. of use the teflon coating starts peeling off the grill. Can't think that's healthy, so I throw it out and buy a new one. It's happened to every one I've purchased. The grill, grills fine, I just wish I could find one that holds up better. To expensive to keep replacing.

Buy a diffrent one!
Date: 2009-06-04 | Rating: 2
I bought this item a few months ago and it cooks fast and well, but the trouble you go through to clean it is not worth the time to cook anything on it. First off, it does not have an on/off switch so you have to unplug it risking shock if you don't wait for the light to turn off. Second, it's burner plates don't come off so cleaning is a monumental task. Third, the grease always manages to run off onto the table or wherever you're cooking on. It takes longer to clean than to cook!

Kitchen Staple - easy clean up
Date: 2008-10-06 | Rating: 5
We love this George Forman grill with the removable plates! Not only does it cook up burgers, chicken, veggies, fish, steaks in no time - but it is a snap to clean up. The removable grill plates allow you to put this in the dishwasher. We liked our old grill - but it was a pain to clean. This is so much easier and it cooks up dinner/lunch very quickly. We bought some as gifts too. If you do not have an outside grill - this will do very nicely. We really like cooking with it.

Ordered this past Sunday and received this Tuesday without paying for one day shipping! Cooked a ribeye last night and it turned out perfect. I followed the cooking instructions included for medium rare, 5 minutes, and it was superb. Clean up is a breeze. The digital timer is a great feature. I recommend this for one or two people.

They really like using it. I would recommend this grill for anyone, but especially for people with memory problems. I may buy one for myself, but my George Forman grill is still going strong after several years.

I have been using my grilling machine for almost two years now. I think it is fantastic. I cook toast in it on High, then reduce it to Low and cook scrambled eggs in it after the toast is done. In the evenings I cook chicken breasts or hamburgers on Low and they are done in 10 minutes. It is especially good for the single, unattached community. It would do very well for two people also. Highly recommended.

Tip for easier cleanup
Date: 2009-04-04 | Rating: 5
Just after you unplug the grill after cooking, pour a small amount of water across the bottom grill. Be careful; it will turn to steam quickly while it's loosening any stuck-on drippings. Then, using a wadded WET paper towel, wipe the top and bottom grills clean. Again, be very careful not to burn your fingers--those grills are mighty hot. The manufacturer would rather you wait until the grills are cool, but my way works fast and cleans thoroughly. I do love this appliance for the way it cooks burgers (80 percent lean), boneless chops and boneless chicken breasts (the latter two marinated first). Good size for two people. Would buy it again.

My Super Grill :)
Date: 2009-02-04 | Rating: 5
I received the George Foreman Super Champ Grill for Christmas of'08. I wanted it because I knew that my diet for 2009 would require more cooking than I was equipped for. As a college student, this grill naturally stood out because I'm able to essentially make everything from hamburgers to chicken and shrimp to steak. But most importantly, I needed a quick cleanup! This grill provided all of these things. I've had the grill for over a month now and couldn't be any happier, just last night I had 6 hamburgers in about a half an hour, and then took an additional 10 minutes to clean (after letting the unit cool). All the yucky grease and what not from my foods drip neatly into the provided tray. I've been very careful to use the included plastic spatula or any other plastic or wooden utensil that wouldn't scratch the stick-proof surface. And I have yet to experience any problems with food sticking... Anyway, this grill is great for college students, because it cooks food quickly, takes up minimal space and best of all cleaning is a breeze!

A must-have for my kitchen

This is my third grill and when the last one wore out I was lost without it. I like the smallest size which is hard to find to I went up a notch and find this one is not overly large for my needs. So glad to have found it!!

Did the job and did it well

I thought about getting a George Foreman Grill for ages and never got one until now. I grilled a chicken breast and it cooked just like it was supposed to. The grill is large enough to cook for a couple of people and the little dripping collector caught all the grease without any problems. Cleanup was simple with a wet rag. Well worth the price.

Great purchase!
Date: 2009-09-13 | Rating: 5
It's a nice grill, works as advertised. So far, I've done a few turkey burgers and a few pieces of chicken breast. Both were done within minutes. The scraping tool they give you is kind of useless. Also, I think it takes a little more work than they advertise, to clean it properly after use. Besides those trivial issues, it's a great grill to have, will do exactly what you need it to and in quick fashion.

Nice grill

The George Foreman CRP72CTB G-Broil Electric Nonstick Countertop Grill is fantastic. The food grilled on it always comes out nicely grilled and tender with no uneven cooking. Most cooking times are under 10 minutes which is great. Most of the grease from the food drips down into the drip tray so the food comes out moist and tender without being greasy. The clean up is excellent. The plates are removable so it's easy to take them to the sink to be washed. The grill is really nonstick unlike other manufacturers who claim to have nonstick grilling surfaces that really aren't. Soap and water is all you need and charred food comes right off. Since I have a small countertop and I never have enough room in which to work, I like that I'm able to clamp the top and bottom of the grill together and have it stand up. Therefore, as it's leaning up against the wall, it frees up counter space. If the grill had a temperature adjustment setting and a larger grilling area, it would be perfect. However, even without the temperature control, food grills up wonderfully as long as you adhere to the cooking times in the provided manual. These cooking times are dead on. Food is never undercooked or overcooked.

I had the smaller GF Grill for years and loved it. This one, however, has several advantages over my old one. For one, since is bigger, you can prepare meals for four. The top lifts to accommodate "bulkier" food,(thick hamburgers, for example). Cleaning is a lot easier for this model since the plates are removable and practically wipe clean. And the time it takes to cook anything is surprising!! I've cooked 3/4 inch filet mignon wrapped in bacon in about seven minutes, (medium rare). Believe me, with the summer upon us we are going to enjoy this grill!!

great!

Be careful....

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1UCVD3QHQ32SV I have had 3 Foreman grills over the years, first I got the Champ for college, then I moved up to the Next Grilleration, and now its on to the 360. The 360 has really stepped it up a notch. The multiple removable plates make this grill the one to have I think. I have made a massive omelet and it turned out perfect. I made quesadillas and they turned out perfect. I made chicken and once again came out perfect and had the classic good amount of drippings. Every plate worked like a charm and cleanup was so much easier. than the previous models i think. I look forward to using this grill for years to come! Update: Okay run into my first issue and its a BIG one. For some reason the area made to hold the plates on have gotten warped or bent after their first use (assume it was after I had set it to its highest and had cooked some chicken). I'm not sure if its from the heat or what but the top plate will no longer stay in place!!! I locked the plate in place to cook some chicken, lifted it up 2-3 times and it was fine, but I opened it up once and the plate popped off and ended up falling to the floor as I wasn't about to catch the thing. The plastic handle shattered and now any plate I try in the top does not seem to sit right and pops off after use :( I'm not sure what to think at this point, I was really impressed at first but after this debacle I'm not sure what to do with the thing as its now junk if I can't put any top plate on without it falling off.

This grill is amazing!

I COOKED A WHOLE FROZEN PIZZA FASTER THAN I COULD IN A TOASTER OVEN. I MADE PERFECT QUESIDILLA POCKETS CRISPY ON THE OUTSIDE AND GOOEY ON INSIDE. AND TODAY I MADE BURGERS AND WATCH THE YUCKY FAT DRAIN OFF. I LOVE THIS THING! P.S. MY STICKER CAME OFF JUST FINE!

It is worth every penny! I wanted the latest from George because I know that it knocks out the fat and thought I would give this 360 Grill a shot. Now i'm cooking so much more right in the grill...I dont even take it off the counter. Its like a one stop shop. I didnt notice the adjustable angle at first, but once i looked at the manual i thought what a clever feature...it flattens out so that you can griddle or make pizza on the grill (I have not made a pizza yet, but cant wait to get creative!)

Huge Cooking Surface, Low Fat, Easy Clean up - What's not to like?
Date: 2008-12-23 | Rating: 5
UPDATE - added January 2nd 2009 WARNING - STICKER INFO Several reviews have complained about the sticker, I removed mine with a hairdryer - I had a small amount of residual glue which I removed with Goo Gone - DO NOT DO THIS OR USE A PETROLEUM BASED CLEANER - It took the black paint off the lid, I have now have a nice smudge on my brand new grill ! Apart from that the grill itself has been a joy and I have been using it successfully now without any problems. Steak, chicken and quesadillas all cooked beautifully. I've owned a Foreman type grill in one form or another since they came out years ago, and have resisted the temptation to "trade up" every time they improve the design or add new features. Grilling indoors will little mess, cooking with less saturated fat, retaining flavors and an easy clean up makes using these grills a sensible option, here's how the GRP106QPGR makes it better: 1) Huge cooking area, I mean big! You can do all the meat together not a piece at a time like on smaller models 2) Removable plates - the BEST improvement they made on previous models is carried over to this model, clean up is a breeze. 3) Slide temperature control, older models were either on, or off - sometimes it was difficult to get that thick steak "just right" now you can grill to order! 4) Nice stylish modern design - I just threw that in as a plus, but it does look cool, and is also a conversation piece. Overall 5 stars, get one, cut the fat, cut the clean up time, keep the taste!

Love it

I just got this grill today. I also had a hard time getting the sticker off. First I rubbed some goop gone on it, (not sure if that helped or not...but did not hurt) then I heated it up. The heat made the glue loose and it came right off. In a very few places where it was a problem, I used a popsicle stick to scrape it off. So far it cooks great (knew it would). I wish it had more info tho on how and what to cook on the different plates.

Amazon.com Review
Grilling really can't get much easier than this. After assembling the grill (which takes only a few minutes), simply plug it in and allow about 10 minutes to fully preheat the surface while you gather your steaks, kebabs, or whatever's to be grilled. The electric heat has an adjustable range from low (for keeping food warm) to high (for searing steaks). The nonstick grill surface not only means you can use a minimum of added fat, but it also makes cleanup a cinch. The surface has a subtle slope, with channels that draw accumulated fat or other liquids into a tray just below the surface. The high domed and vented lid helps create a circular flow of hot air to ensure even cooking--particularly important for a large roast or whole chicken. The grill can be placed either directly on a tabletop or atop its pedestal. On its own, the grill surface stands about 6 inches high; with the pedestal, it stands about 2-1/2 feet high, not counting the domed lid. The pedestal is plenty sturdy for cooking, but the grill still seems a bit top-heavy, so pay special attention if grilling in a high-traffic area or near kids. Because of the easy electric heat, this grill can be used outdoors or indoors--when using it indoors, though, be prepared for potential spattering, steam, or other side effects of cooking. --Cynthia Nims

Great for an ELECTRIC grill
Date: 2005-03-22 | Rating: 5
Before I get into this review, we have to understand the product we are looking at: a George Foreman ELECTRIC grill. George Foreman products are essentially useful variations of hotplates. In this case, the hot plate takes the form of a grill (with a stand, a dome cover, a large cooking surface with raised grooves etc...). That being said, this product caters to people (me) willing to try a product that is not a traditional charcoal grill, could be useful in smaller spaces/porches, looks like it is easy to use and clean up, could potentially cut some fat (never hurts, right?), and seems like it will work well as a good back-up grill or a quick solution to throwing mini-bbqs requiring even heat distribution without the hassle of buying/lighting/dumping coal. If that's you, then read on... Here, I'll try my best to outline the grill's pros and cons, as well as do a quick, inevitable comparison it to a traditional charcoal grill. PROS: The pros of this grill basically equal the pros of using hot plates in general: 1) Quick Heat - The whole surface heats up very quickly (you'll be ready to cook in a few minutes after you twist the switch) 2) Design - Basically you have the stand, a bottom dome, the flat grill that sits on the bottom dome, then the lid (top dome). You can easily remove the flat grill part to use indoors separate from the stand, and it also makes for easy cleaning since you can just throw the flat grill surface in the sink. 3) Easy to Clean - The grill surface is relatively easy to clean. Understand, grease is never easy to clean. But in my situation, i wipe off the chunks of grease with paper towels, then run hot water over it in the sink (yes it fits in my sink) and wash it with a soapy sponge. It's basically like cleaning a big oily plate by hand in the sink, however easy or hard that is to you. 4) Space Saving - The bulk of the materials are where it should be: the grilling surface. Everything else (aka the stand) is small and portable. 5) Easy to Assemble - A no brainer. Put the pole of the stand into the foot of the stand. Attach the grilling surface to the bottom dome. Stick that whole thing on the stand. Then put the cover on top. Took a few minutes while I was watching TV. 6) Great Tasting Food - Of course this part is important. I tried cooking everything unseasoned and it just tastes great. I mean, this this one thing I love about hotplates...food tastes good without a lot of seasoning. I cooked unseasoned burgers, top sirloin, chuck roast, kielbasa..it was fast, it tasted good, and it had good looking grill stripes on it when I was done. Cons: Seriously, not much that I can think of. If I had to be picky: 1) Could be a little heavy for people with a bad back? 2) When you lift it by the handles, the stand comes out (since they're not really "attached"....the grill just sits on the stand.) So you gotta lift it by the pole of the stand, really...this isn't even a con truthfully. 3) People complain about the grease not dripping into the pan. Well, it's a hot plate with grooves and a hole in it for grease to drip. Of course not all the grease magically swims toward the magical grease drip hole. But still, it works fine...I didn't notice sever grease build-up that stood in the way of my grilling. Comparison to a Traditional Grill: Really, there shouldn't be a comparison. Obviously this is not a charcoal grill and should never be compared to one. They are just 2 different things, and so they make food taste different: traditional grills basically fire cook your food through the coal's heat so you get the taste of charcoal while this product essentially "pan sears" your food. I'm a long time lover of all kinds of BBQ, and charcoal grills are great fun, make great tasting food and really cannot be replicated. You shouldn't be buying this grill to ever *REPLACE* a charcoal grill; it should be bought to be a 2nd grill that's great for rainy days or a primary grill if you really have no space and don't have time/space to deal with lighting and dumping charcoal. Overall, this grill is an electric hot plate with raised grooves that makes great tasting food quickly, quietly, and easily. And for what it is, it's a SUPERB product (and relatively affordable too!). Go get one! I didn't regret my purchase and I don't think you will either.

Originally I saw my mother's George Forman grill (smaller indoor one with lid). Then I saw my brother's Party Size grill. Both of them love their grill. I was able to taste the food from both and found it very tasty and easy to use. I decided to do some investigating on my own intending to purchase the party size grill, when I saw the indoor/outdoor grill. I was impressed with the fact that it appeared to be a bigger cooking surface and the price I found was within reason. I purchased it for the purpose of using it as an extra grill for a cookout I was having. No one used the gas grill at all. I have since used it indoors without the stand, making it convient on rainy days. It is the easiest grill to use and clean that we have ever owned. You can cook everything evenly, because there are no coals to level out. It can easily hold 4 to 5 steaks, 10 big hamburgers, and the list goes one. I am sure there are some drawbacks to those that swear by gas/charcoal grills, but my gas grill has found a permanent residence in our shed, while George sits ready to use at any time indoors or out on our back porch. I am so impressed, that I am purchasing one for my parents for Christmas, to replace the charcoal grill that takes for ever to heat up and messy to clean. I'm sure they'll love it too!

George is right. It actually does what he claims it will do!

I bought this grill 4 months ago and have used it several times per week ever since. I am a very lazy cook with 3 hungry teens and a hubby who eats like he's a heavyweight boxer. So, I needed something that would cook and clean-up as easily as possible. I can turn on the grill (it has an adjustable thermostat), take out a package of frozen chicken, hamburger patties, whatever, prepare it as usual, and the grill is ready to go to work. Dinner is on the table in no time. Its non-stick surface is just that, making clean-up simple and quick. I am quite happy with the surface area, as I can easily fit 8 large burgers on at once. I live in the frozen north, so the fact that this grill will also work indoors is plus. It's portable, reliable, easy to use and clean, and a bargain compared to other outdoor grills. George put his name on a very good product. Update: I have owned this grill for 2 1/2 years now and it still works like new!

A great boon for Florida grillers!

Florida in the summertime is a difficult time for those of us who love outdoor cooking. It's rather hard to keep charcoal lit in the middle of a downpour - and those downpours happen just about every day this time of year. What's the solution? This grill! I set it up in the kitchen, plug it in, and I'm ready to cook. This grill has a large cooking surface, sufficient to handle 8 hamburgers with no crowding. It can also handle 6 large chicken-breasts or 4 good-sized steaks. The non-stick surface allows you to turn the meat often without tearing it. Don't use metal utensils with this grill! You'll damage the coating.Cleanup is a breeze. I let the grill cool down to where it can be handled with bare hands, and then wipe off the worst of the grease, bbq, or whatever with a damp paper towel. Then I put it in the sink and hose it down with hot water. A few swipes of a soft soapy sponge removes any remaining traces, and a final hot rinse takes care of the soap. This method preserves the non-stick surface, which other reviewers have complained about.I use the grill at least twice a week. Sometimes more. I never thought I'd give up my old charcoal grill, but I have. "Big George" has made a convert out of me!

Of all the Foreman grills I've seen and used (and I now own three of them), This grill cooks the most food at a time (even more than the Grande sized steel indoor/outdoor that's [money] more expensive), and in my 30 year old house, I've never had a power outage due to the grill. Those who have trouble with the Grill's electricity might want to look into the deeper problem they're having. It's NOT the grill.Cooking times should be about the same as a gas grill. I cooked chicken, steak, shrimp, and veggie skewers for about 2 minutes a side (for 8 total minutes) per skewer. With the marinade I used, it tasted REALLY good. For steak, go 6 a side. Don't overcook your steak. Leave it Medium rare.Chicken: 6 minutes a side. Just like steak. I'm talking about skinless, boneless breasts. I haven't tried drumsticks. For steak, use salt, pepper, accent, garlic salt, and Montreal Steak seasoning on both sides of the cow. Don't use A1, don't use Worcestershire. I swear it'll taste a lot better than the 'burnt' flavor you get from steakhouses who think all it takes to cook a steak is setting it under a flame. Fire shouldn't be your only steak seasoning! And for those who think the Grill doesn't make the meat taste good...well no kidding! That's why you SEASON MEAT. You're cooking on METAL! HELLO!!!!Washing this thing is a breeze, no matter how long you leave it sitting. I could leave the cooktop sitting for a week, and it'll still be easy to clean. It's easier to clean than the smaller Georges. Some mention having to turn the meat over when you cook on this grill. That's very true, but you should have to do the same on the smaller George grills, even with the heating element on the top. Even in smaller grills, I ALWAYS turn the meat over halfway. That makes for even cooking. Don't be so lazy. All you have to do is turn meat. Nobody's asking you to cure cancer.I still use the small Foreman (the family size) for cooking on thick steak at a time or about 3 or 4 chicken breasts. But when I'm cooking for several or if I'm cooking RIBS, I use this dome topped barbeque. It's totally Rockin'!
